What did you get in the mail for 2020/2021?

Is that a bimetal liberty?

Nossir, it’s larger in both diameter and width than the liberty!

I got bored waiting for the TiVayder release and most of the stuff I really, really want is out of stock so I bit the bullet and ordered a TopYo Raiser and Selene. Figured it’s a great way to try a design that really interests me and my first wider yo-yo at a decent price point.

The specs and shape of the raiser are similar to the Kayak but a little wider and it has the weight ring placed a little back from the rim just like the Kayak has that undercut ring so I’m hoping they feel similar, and I’ve yet to play anything wider than 45~ plus I like the shape of the Selene. Not only that but if I like them a lot I’ve got a new brand to keep in mind in the future

I’ll post pics when they arrive in two days.

Raiser is like a budget Kodiak.

Respect your view if it’s based on play/shape but the Raiser is a little less tall and a little wider, plus the weight ring sits a little farther in instead of under the rim which really attracted me to it.

Carlson CS & Something strings.
Quality strings are fantastic, but my budget is for throws so this seemed like the best option for non-cotton. I ordered these Friday early evening, Bravo YYE on quick turnaround.

Got a ano flawed Mayhem and new 7068 Windrunner. I really love the original Windrunner, and this one also brings me joy.

Have you been around long enough to compare the play and feel of the new Duncan metals to their original performance metal stuff? Like the original Mayhem, the Vendetta, Hugo Z Hor, Momentum etc…

Or can anyone? I had considered picking up a GTX but have bad memories of that original performance metal line. It was like YYJs first few metals, they were ok but clearly inferior to all the other companies metals.

I was around when that stuff was coming out, but I always heard that it wasn’t worth it, so I never got my hands on them. I think it was when they came out with the Barracuda that they were starting to make exceptional stuff. Honestly this February was the first time I picked up a Duncan metal and was legit not expecting them to be as good as they were. For real the Windrunner plays better than what you would think a $35 throw would.

Old Duncan metal stuff was garbage

New stuff is good. GTX should be an excellent throw

It is a very nice throw, I also have the Haymaker X and i like that one too. In my opinion the star of the Duncan metal line up right now is the Mayhem.

Have you got the Exit 8? Because that looks dope. Another thing that sold out in my abandoned Duncan cart while I’ve been waiting on the TiVayder drop.

Spoiler alert: the TiVayder is worth waiting for

I’m thinking of selling off or trading my 3 free duncan throws…mainly because they’re not green! lmao
