Got my Summit 2 today!
Iโm interested in the Fork, but I wish it had a cooler name ![]()
Can someone explain the fork to me. Whatโs the unique hub thing? How does it work?
The wall between the bearing and the pads is basically angled so that the gap width is wider than the bearing. Itโs therefore less grippy and you can as a result just much thicker string. The idea being that thicker string is better for holding tension and controlling slacks but has snagging issues on typical gap widths.
It does mean the system is as much about the string as the yo-yo (though the Fork has spacers to swap these out to a normal gap width). So far Iโve only tried the yellow YYR whizy strings and the stock HKMT white whizy string. The former is a decent bit thicker than OT Fat and still works well for grippiness in a yo-yo with permatex ultra grey response but is too grippy in โstandardโ response. The latter was even thicker and had issues with snagginess in ultra grey. So hkmt whizy string does seem to need either this whizy widened gap or maybe you could get the same effect by recessing the response.
So the angled part is replaceable?
Knew it was you who snagged itโฆ
Nice throws!
Had to do it to 'em. That RSL is cruuuuuuuuuusty, but it should polish up nice. I had never seen a Spyder II with that side engraving. He still had some pretty killer stuff left once I was done.
The SPYY guy has to be quick.
the SPYY on the side is so dope! didnโt see that on his post but a lucky snag altogether.
Man I saw that post a full hour after it went up and thought there is NO WAY I am going to get this RSL.
Had to pull over on my way home from work to respond to him and make the deal.
Spyder II! I loved mine so much that I bought a second one in another color. Had heck of a time trying to find one at first but somebody had one for sale on the BST and eventually found a mint A-grade not long after on Ebay for a decent price. 2020 adventures ![]()
Also never saw one with the side engraving aside from maybe the star thatโs on one of my Spyder IIโs (star/b-grade).
I really like the Demonโs Fun. I am not a demon and yet I still find it fun! ![]()
i remember when my friend lost mine. miss it
is that the stealth teal color?
yes, itโs a very vintage feeling turquoise. Itโs an awesome throw
