Yo Justin Timberlake just called and said “It’s 5A May”. In celebration of the division with the most A’s we’ve been redesigning our counterweights. Our first counterweight was our double dice discs released back in 2020 with a string groove and we strayed away from that with our globe series in favor of the adjustable weight hats to make string the weights easier. Last year with our release of the heavier double dice weights did we realize it’s far easier to string them through the weight and wrap the loop around them, quickly shifting from 1a to 5a. That’s an increase in 4 As without going offstring.. Our inflatable globes is the first redesign, we added the string groove, but we didn’t stop there we made it all one piece eliminating the pla core and replaced it with multi-density infill patterns we were able to keep a solid core and make the outer layers softer than the previous generation. We have been championing heavier counterweights the past few years so we are now able to offer the inflatable globe 2.0 XL which is 12.5grams and the standard 10gram weight. They are now available in fluorescent green or glow if you want a different color feel free to his us up.
Our adventures in softer materials doesn’t end there, in the upgrade section we are adding tires to the store, these just pop right on to the yoyo and increase the diameter to a more standard size the first throws receiving the upgrades are the Proyo Ace and the DocPop aluminum Executive. Again currently available in glow and fluorescent green, with more colors available on request.
The sad news is the glow/uv punks didn’t pass QC so we will have to circle back around to them in a week or two. In the mean time we are preparing for a large drop on Monday to celebrate everyone’s favorite space drama, but here is a bit of a tease.
Three colorways for tomorrow in honor of your favorite co-pilot helper robot, liaison between people and robots and a semi potentially redeemable evil lord.
I’m still trying to decide if they are going to be 3 separate or do a half swap of the gold and white as a best friends for life theme
Last year when I sent out one of the early starfire prototypes one of the suggestions that came back was they thought it would be cool to have side caps. It took me longer than I care to admit to get it worked out but I did and this is the introductory version of that in a Betsy Ross flag colorway limited to just 4 pieces.
Sometimes life gets crazy between a new job and sidetracked with other projects and normal yoyo player ADHD these capped Starfire FRs got set aside covered up and forgotten about until today. This one is made with PCTG instead of PETG, so it has a durable matte finish, with the downside of a bit of string cutting roughness on the gap. I did hand sand them to remove that aspect but just a bit of a warning and heads-up to keep an eye out for it.
