I love the big surge in responsive/semi-responsive from OneDrop! There are so so many unresponsive wide throws. It’s nice to get some attention.
I don’t think the market is flooded honestly. There are a lot of responsive/semi-responsive players out there, and a lot of the colorways did sell out.
IMHO - OneDrop is starting a resurgence where the hype of quality responsive throws lives up to the product.
when ya see how small the run numbers are and ya realize our community consists of the same twelve people just swapping the same throws back and forth.
Voice imodulation syndrom tina! There are DOZENS of us! DOZENS!
Ps. I’m not complaining either. That’s a grass is always greener sort of complaint. Hey, thank god it’s not on the opposite end of the spectrum and we could never get anything good.
The fact that there are seemingly nearly 50 people around who will buy a new expensive yoyo right after it comes out is actually pretty crazy. People collectively spent over $3K on One Drop yoyos just now. We’re not even talking about all yoyoers. A lot of people will only buy 1 (one) yoyo and play with that basically forever, so I’d say it’s very significant that people are actively buying quite a lot of new yoyos.
Still hasn’t happened 5 months later though. David also said there’d be more blind box yoyos after the Mantis but that never happened either. Things get forgotten.
Isn’t the summit a collab with clyw? Collabs always take a long time cause it’s agreeing on a design and dependent on both companies pipelines. Heck clyw mentioned a collab with the maker of tmbr over a year ago and it’s still not happened. Stuff like that takes time and way more revisions and back and fourth and might still not happen if this any disagreement that can’t be resolved. However I imagine a summit of some sort will get done again at some point.
