What has been mentioned are pretty much all good, and you can choose whichever you want based on the profile (shape) or brand, and it won’t be a wrong choice.
Just because everyone uses it doesn’t mean it’s the best FOR YOU, at least it’s the rule of thumb in yoyoing.
I swear by Buddha. The best thing at them is after receiving them I always fresh clean needle of lube and boom amazing bearing. CTX are amazing but they need some real good tender love and care sometimes… Best described as temperamental.
I’m about 87% sure that is actually a Buddha ripple I believe kinda looks like a crucial just 10 ball not 8. I could be wrong.
I’ve used Buddha Whipples from the start. I’ve had various center tracks with various outcomes, some just fine, some going responsive then unresponsive, then some completely responsive even after cleaning + a pin of lube. All of my Buddha bearing so far have been A-okay since I started throwing 2-ish years ago. Heck the first Buddha whipple I had Ive transferred to every main throw including my new YYF Genesis I got the other day. It’s still pretty great. It’s not the quietest ever but to me is quieter than center tracs, yyj, and spec bearings in my experience and aren’t too noisy.
Just use what you want. It’s preference really. Only reason I use Buddha is because of their cheap cost and I find them good enough for my 1A and 3A.
This explains a lot. I was expecting Gold CT’s to be good, but not as good as they actually are… but if they’re made by NSK then it all makes perfect sense. Man those guys are good at what they do. ;D
ed’s not biased at all about what is the best bearing.
yeah, no.
Ok then, is it true that the terrapin spins for 3.5 minutes? and if it is would the delta cut be the same?? And how reliable is terrapin?? sorry im new thx
Well would agree. I was going through a complicated time with my Flat Terrapin Ceramic bearing but I still reached up to 5 minutes. Haven’t tried to test it out for a long spin after I cleaned it though.
How long a yoyo can spin on a straight throw with no tricks doesn’t translate to spin time during play. The tricks you do and how neatly you do them will have FAR more of an effect on spin time than the bearing you use will.
Spin time mostly depends on the player, and the weight/weight distribution of the yoyo.
There IS a difference between a good vs cheapo bearings spin time wise, I’ve tried, but it’s not magical. Unless the previous bearing sucks really bad, there is not a whole lot of difference.
^^ the two above me have it right.
OK. thanks! now, what would you say about this: http://www.magnetal.com/ lol
Been discussed from time to time.
Doesn’t scale to yoyos I believe was the result of the last discussion.
I really enjoy the DS gold Plated bearing the best out of all the one I own. Its so smooth, silent, and spins longer then any other beating I own.
Hopefully you don’t own a lot of beatings…it’s just not right.
I gotta say that Terrapin X is my #1
