# YYF Dark Matter lube experiences

I’m interested in getting some of this but I have a couple of questions about it.
Is it superior in any way to regular thin lube products? What is special about it?
Does it help keep the bearing quieter than other lines on the market?

My understanding of what Dark Matter is, is based on my observetions, so I can’t say it’s definitive.
I believe Dark Matter is a dry lube that uses a liquid; which I’m pretty sure is isopropyl, to deliver and distribute the dry lubricant particles. I’ve used the word “suspension” before, but the particles settle requiring you to shake the bottle, so it’s probably more accurate to say it’s a mixture?
It’s my understanding that dry lubes are more performance enhancing than quieting and protective. In general you’ll find better performance, longer spin and zero response, but it won’t quiet the bearing as much as an oil.
I feel it does still quiet the bearing over running them dry.
I prefer dry lubes, and Dark Matter makes it so much easier to apply!

No, suspension works perfectly fine as a definition. A suspension is a mixture in which particles will eventually settle.

Ah, it all makes sense now… he is even explaining, why people might have had problems with it… it is because the alcohol dries out before the graphite is evenly distributed in the bearing. Makes sense.

Mine dried out too. Will try to reanimate it with alcohol…
Anyone else any new observations or opinions about Dark Matter?
Anyone destroyed barrings with it like Brandon Vu?
Or praising it as the most awesome (non oil) lubricant?
