So the “Suggested Topics” at the bottom of each post has been finding some amazing threads from before my time here. What old threads do y’all have bookmarked or what are some of your favorite old threads? Some of the good things I’ve found so far have been—

> [@Who Invented the Trick?](https://forums.yoyoexpert.com/t/who-invented-the-trick/45225):
>
> I’m curious how many tricks can be tied to a specific individual, as the person who introduced the trick to the masses, named it, and gets credit for coming up with it. If you know any tricks and the person who came up with them, or you think you do…post here. I’m interested in tricks tied to an individual that are fact, and not disputed. Thanks.

^Gold star for leading me to this link [String Trick List](http://web.archive.org/web/20080513135138/http://www.yo-yo.org/SpinWizard/SpinWizard/string_trick_list.htm)

> Something just crossed my mind and I’m really curious… Why do the photos of yoyos posted in the what did you get in the mail thread get more love and attention than the videos of people posting yoyo tricks in the lets start posting tricks thread? Do people on the forum like looking at yoyos more than they like seeing actual yoyo tricks? I don’t get it. We need more love being shown on peoples tricks and more people posting tricks…

> [@Video on the History of Tech](https://forums.yoyoexpert.com/t/video-on-the-history-of-tech/365397):

> Along with my other new clip vid, I put together a video explaining where the tech style of yo-yoing started. I don’t see much publicly available info on the topic. [https://youtu.be/a4cDoHCIpX8](https://youtu.be/a4cDoHCIpX8)

> [@1A Elements](https://forums.yoyoexpert.com/t/go-with-the-flow/345271):
>
> I’ve compiled a list of basic 1A elements. I found it useful to look at the foundations of tricks for inspiration and I’m hoping to help others with learning tricks, creating new tricks and freestyles, or just jamming. Feel free to comment if you have any additions or questions! Enjoy and have fun!

Loved it! I hope to see another yoyo history video from you one day! (Just curious what happened next. You alluded to something shifting in 2004. I think the rise of speed but I’m not certain.)

Beginning arbitrarily at 1976 when the Duracraft ProYo was introduced by Donald Duncan Jr., here is a start from my collection database (laughably incomplete, please fill in/correct as appropriate; also dates tend to be introduction …
