It has a hilarious amount of vibe, but honestly better guts than I was expecting, plus just look at those side effects :joy: I think I can mod it to accept actual SEs so I can put in a nice bearing, and figure out some way to do silicone response. All my random bits and tools are back home though so it’ll have to wait. ---

I’m glad others are also fascinated by this :joy: Everything about it is bonkers: definitely dif-e-yo “inspired”, the only metal part seems to be the hub - the cup and inner/outer rims are plastic for sure, and don’t seem to be secured to each other at all. The bearing is almost C sized, but the inner race is smaller diameter and the outer race is larger diameter, and overall width is thinner. I remember watching a guy who made violins tear down a really cheaply made violin and he said something along the lines of “This is basically not even an actual violin. It’s a violin-shaped object,” and I always think about it in these kind of situations :joy: That’s a yoyo-shaped object. Of course I’m sure you can do some kinds of tricks on it, but it’s made with little to no reverence to the craft, just a cheap thing to sell. It really is like a dif-e-yo got made based off a blurry polaroid of a distant yoyo. ---

I just picked up a light up one last weekend at my local Hobby Lobby that has the same awkward response deal. Mine just has a transaxle, though… Plenty of vibe, but not a terrible spin time. Silicone rims. Dangit. I’ll have to get a pic now. ---
