Goemon is such a good series. You should play the N64 ones at some point if you ever get a chance. If games are on the table, one of my favorites is Bridget in Guilty Gear XX. Everything in his moveset is based around what feels like THP era looping/string tricks. It’s in one other episode with Argyle (pizza dude). It’s a real weird inclusion, because the sound is off (to my ears) and in the two scenes I’ve seen, he’s throwing it behind someone or something. I feel like they didn’t want the actor to actually throw a yo-yo, and they also didn’t want to fully CG the thing. ---

I need to watch this movie! I saw The Pirates and The Adventurers which I think are both from Korea and they were awesome, lots of great ridiculous action but with a good story and interesting characters. So I’ve got a soft spot for these types of films for sure. Ivan ---

A friend of mine shared some exciting yoyo news with me last night, there’s a new character to Guilty Gear that was just released that also features a yoyo in her fighting arsenal. I just find it comical continuing to see our hobby misrepresented. At the end of the day I’m glad it’s there for more exposure to our hobby, but it does further reinforce a commonly misunderstood myth about the history of yoyo. I’d feel the same way seeing cds used as throwing weapons or using kendama like a nun chuck! ---
