I think this boils down to a lack of respect for the rules. I’m glad I didn’t participate. I have no patience for people who make excuses when the rules were posted WELL in advance. I would encourage people to post what they receive and when they receive it. I can form my own opinion when considering trades with these members in the future. ---

I have been in two other secret santa things, but they are really no different from this. You will always have people who express their opinions about not receiving gifts and you will always have people who just don’t ship according to the rules or set date. Accept it! Whats the point of bashing each other? Not trying to play peacemaker but just pointing out the obvious. I think the first time I was in the SS, it was done by icthus and I didn’t get my gift until like February or something. Second time was this past year which yomagic organized. In both cases, there were people who complained about not receiving their gifts. In both SS, there were a handful of people who couldn’t ship by the given date and had legitimate reasons. Just saying … if you are going to go into this again, expect it. Whether its SS or YYE gift exchange, life happens. ---

Offstring Stewart at least gave a heads up before the deadline that he was having issues but other people haven’t even bothered updatin the thread or at least asking yomagic to inform their recipient without taking out the excitement of the randomness and knowing the persons name. This is my first time doing Something like this and by the way yomagic made t sound everything was legit so I decided to partake I apologize that I was so mad but I just felt like no one cared about the people who hadnt received and I figured that if I’m not gonna receive anything why bother being nice? I have only been expressing my thoughts and personal opinions and yeah they might be straight forward and blunt but I’m my eyes that’s not rude; but as the saying goes truth hurts, I just wish someone could update us or the people who haven shipped yet could do so. It’s not like I can get the gift I sent back which is why I’ve been upset because before the gift exchange everyone agreed to the rules so why are they changing now 6 days after the Deadline does shipping that long? And of it did can’t they have enough courtesy to give an update? That’s all saying man. I understand people have life’s to live but if that’s the case what’s so hard about letting us know so we aren’t waiting for nothing ---

At this point, I think the people who are running late, they know who they are, should be at least sending a pm to their recipient and let them know whats going on. Last week, I felt that more patience was needed, but at this point, even if you used parcel post from coast to coast the package should have arrived. You should know where your package is (you used tracking, right?) and if its not delivered, lost in the mail, you didn’t ship, whatever, you really need to let someone know. A little more communication could probably save alot of the hard feelings. ---

Did my sender leave a tracking number so i can track it? If he did not leave a tracking # then i could talk to him on your behalf and try to work things out. ---

But you want one, you didn’t sign up for a charity donation, or a “Ship within the next 2 months, and it’s all cool” exchange either. So anything you have said is valid because what you signed up for, is what should go down. ---

I know my 2 cents is only worth about 2 cents, so don’t get riled up if this offends you This is exactly why I don’t partake in these kind of things. I feel like I would either get shafted by not receiving anything, the organizer may conspire to take the better gift givers, OR I would send out something valuable and get dirt in return.
