I’ve seen so many vids of people snagging a breakaway and taking it to the face that I developed a defense mechanism of putting my non-throw hand out to block the yoyo when that happens. So far, just a couple of bruised knuckles. Don’t get me wrong. I’m totally fine with missing out on this particular right of passage for yoyoists.

I don’t think I have gotten hurt but my dog has taken some breakaways to the head and chest.

I’ve hit the side of my head many times for not checking my bind before throwing horizontal it really hurts
