I’d like to start an archival project of old yoyo videos/ephemera would be a youtube page with public playlists that organizes older videos that might get lost in old playlists with ambiguous names like “cool yoyo vidz” lol. I personally love to nerd out about the era of development of 1a tech from the early 2000’s thru the 10’s but I feel like there’s a lot of older videos and tutorials that have gotten lost or eaten up by a few channels with more organized content. that’s not to say anything about awesome channels like rewind, yotricks, or yye, they do so much! it’s just hard to search for stuff these days and actually figure out where tricks came from. Please share your favorite older vids/edits that you feel are underviewed gems! feel free to post directly in this thread or send them to me directly. or if you have places that youd recommend i dig- e.g. sector y, let me know! It is my position that the history of yoyoing and trick development is a culture that deserves to be maintained in a way that is a bit less homogenous than certain things are these days with your “meta slack combo” videos and the like (which are all great, i just wish i could better see the throughline of how these tricks developed etc) videos dont have to be super old or anything like that im happy to receive whatever you find exciting and like it doesn’t get the platform it deserves. going to make a youtube channel to organize everything i find, will post the link soon 🙂 tysm ily all \<3 ---
