Yoyo is either too snappy or too snaggy.
I’m using kitty fat, is it the string or the silicone pads prob? ( using magic yoyo yellow pads )
Yoyo currently using : YYF Ko’olau edge.

I love Kitty fat but only in some yoyos. It’s very thick and takes up a lot of space in the gap during tricks. Use a thinner string for less snagging.

Yea to be honest kitty fat is really good for whips and slacks but SUCKS as soon as you put multiple wraps in the gap.

Try thinner string and/or poly-nylon blend. I find that a touch of nylon seems to tone down responsiveness a little. Maybe more of a theory at this point, but I have noticed a trend.

It depends on the gap size and overall shape of the yoyo. Like in my Colossus V and Replay Pro and several others - Kitty fat works / feels best to me. I think it’s all just personal preference and maybe the types of tricks we are doing.
EDIT: I meant to type Kitty XL here - above…

Kitty Fat shouldn’t snag on any modern yo-yo, it’s a pretty standard thickness these days. XL or XXL can be too thick for certain models, but not Fat. You may need to clean the bearing.

Maybe also worth making sure the pads are flush (not sticking out at all).
