# Yoyo losing spin uncharacteristically and tilting?

I’m currently throwing a CLYW Pickaxe. All of a sudden it started losing spin and tilting out. Used to be more stable, but after a single mistake, the spin drastically slows and tilting results. Even when I make a correction on a trapeze after a hard throw, it starts to lose spin right away and becomes weak. I’ve changed the bearing still with the same result. Of course, any other throw I have doesn’t do this, so I know it’s not my throw form, especially because it was more stable to begin with. Anyone have an idea what this could be?

Does the yoyo feel vibey at the moment as you throw it? If so that might have to do with the response pads becoming un-flush and protruding from the gap. If you open the yoyo and the pads aren’t flush or recessed into the yoyo then that might be your problem. If they are in good shape i don’t know what your problem is.

I will definitely check. The unfortunate thing is, this throw is new and has maybe a couple hours of play max. The might just have to replace the response pads

If there isn’t vibe or anything like a pad protrusion i wouldn’t recommend changing them. I only mentioned what i did as my Vanitas once had a similar problem and it was fixed when i noticed the pads I had installed stuck a bit into the gap and weren’t flush.

Upon further consultation with people more experienced than me, even if there isn’t vibe, it might still be the pads. Try replacing them.

Yep. If it isn’t the bearing or the thrower and it’s a monometal that’s the only other thing it could be.

1. It’s the pads
2. You were wrong, it for sure the pads
3. Maybe its the bearing
