Do you mean 7068? Minimum thickness for that should be \>0.8mm but only if you’re doing something extreme, and it’s mostly not necessary to get that thin. I’d recommend at least 1mm. Given that, you can carve your cup much, much deeper. It only needs to be like 1.2mm away from the bottom of the bearing/pad moats. That other weight there isn’t doing much for how the yoyo plays except make it heavier in the middle. What’s your current weight per half? ---

Wow, it sure shrunk a lot! It looks like the string might catch on the response bump, and maybe even on that cut near the rim. You should also be able to blend the rim better into the face of the yoyo so that there isn’t that sharp-ish bit. ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex015/uploads/yoyoexpert1/original/4X/4/4/9/449b1709faf36aaaaa7e0f5c7a201e54f74af0f8.png) What I like to do for rims is extend the fillet arc all the way around and draw a tangent off of it to make the wing part of the rim. ---
