So how do I have the axle made for a metal fixed axle that is cost effective? It would require a grub screw with a smooth polished section in the middle. That would probably have to be machined along with a yoyo and possibly from a different shop. Or, it could just used a machined blank the size of an MR85 which would cost significantly more to produce than an MR85 bearing itself.
So… I could design a metal fixed axle that uses an MR85 bearing where the bearing is inserted in a way into the halves that prevents it from spinning. But then, why not just brick your Harbinger or RBC? It would be the same effect. Also, if it needs to be designed with an MR85, why not just make a design where the bearing spins freely?..
Maybe @MarkD would make one, but if I won’t, I think Mark doubly so.

Printed in HTPLA which is more temperature resistant and stronger. So far any test axle I’ve printed in it hasn’t melted yet. I’m gonna put it through the paces and see if it keeps holding up. HTPLA can also be annealed to be even more heat resistant so if this one melts I’ll chuck the next in a heat chamber for ~10 minutes

This mentality of dont need X they already make Y and that’s good enough. Why modifying yoyo became/was/is a thing. Cause there is always someone that wants to make Y yoyo play like X but some people just want to buy X from a store and will never bother getting it made.

Keep this way of thinking, haha. I didn’t think I was the collector type…until I was…downside also being when you play so many, you can also spot the slight differences easily and you’re like “see, they’re totally different, must try them all” haha!
Plus side being I’m also getting to the point where I can look at something and mentally also go “no, this one’s probably not for me,” but that’s been after a lonnnng time of trial and error.

The outer ridge is also shrunk down a little to try to nestle into the bearing seat to avoid free spinning.
