# YouTube sign in / bot issue

Is anyone else seeing this with YouTube video links? Trying to watch tells me to sign in to confirm I’m not a bot. IOS 17.6.1 and I have YouTube app and am signed in.

I just hunted down a video to check, and yep, I’m a bot too it seems.

I did look into this quite a bit and it seems YouTube has gotten quite aggressive trying to prevent sites from downloading their videos and this is partially the result… Curious if you login to youtube in the actual browser does it fix itself? (Being logged in on the app is a different instance - so it probably wouldn’t fix it).

Signed into YouTube in Safari, closed the YYE window, reopened and videos now play.
