I do enjoy the shade in Summer, so it’s a good balance. I might be ready for a Christmas giveaway, in December, but I have to think up a good idea. We’ll see. Food and Yo-Yos, part 2. Maybe some extension of the name game or shape game…hmmm. Time will tell. :-\ ---

Time will tell. :-\ wow evergreens? that surprises me because that’s really south knowing those trees are abundant in taiga biomes that doesn’t make much sense. ---

Time will tell. :-\ Yeah, the needles dropped from the kind of evergreens that drop needles in NE are way more work to clean up after than Maple and Oak leaves. They are much harder to rake. At least you get a free workout. ---

At least you get a free workout. I probably didn’t explain enough. But, I have some emerald green arborvitae trees, the ones I called evergreens. They drop needles, but I barely clean up after those. I stick my hand in the middle of them and pull out needles that bunch up at the base of the tree in the Spring, but the needles act as a mulch when the fall, so I don’t mind those and don’t clean them up. I planted them because in my area a fence can only be 6 feet tall. My neighbor has a pool in the yard and I didn’t want to see the neighbors half naked in the pool…not a good view, so I planted the trees, but brought some in way over 6 feet. They are green all year around, and very common around here in landscapes. I think it’s a maple tree that is dropping the ton of leaves in my backyard. It’s very old, and provides me shade in Summer, but that is the one I end up spending every week picking up the leaves several weeks in a row. One good thing is that the back is fenced in, so I I can leave them down longer than the front without them blowing around. I haven’t identified my tree in the front. I had an arborist come and tell me about all my trees and bushes, but I forget what he called that one. :-\ ---

We made maple syrup one time from a limb that got sawed off for safety reasons. I was tasty. Even though we only made like 1 tablespoon of it. ---
