There once was a yo  
Neglected and put away  
But then a boy came

He loved the yoyo  
Together they became great  
Then the boy grew old

And bought a new yo  
The old yo was left behind  
Put away again

Dare to be square

There once was a yo that didn’t look the norm  
it didn’t choose to look the same  
didn’t need to conform  
that’s fine

A square yo  
Sharp at the rims  
Hurts the hands and string  
it works just fine, but comes with a sting

“they have no pizzaz and are all the same”  
said the square yo  
“round yo’s are boring and do as they’re told”  
“fight back! I won’t have this yoyo control!”

Woah! Calm down.  
Chill out with this mess.  
They’re not out for me  
or at least not yet.
