The colour second from the top in this image for ZS.AiR is referred to as ‘yellow’:

Electro Pop, POLYESQUE, and Alphaline’s ‘yellow’ colours are also closer to green in the photos too.

Are these colours actually neon green in person, or just the photos? I don’t like neon yellow anywhere near as much. For reference, the leftmost bundle of SKYLINE III in this photo is neon yellow:

No. As seen in my post it’s the same color. Why would a brand misrepresent the color?

P.s. After reading your post more I realize I come off rude in this post and I apologize for that. But they don’t misrepresent their strings’ colors. I highly recommend most strings of Zipline for their durability alone, besides the fact they tend to be superior in quality.

This curiosity may seem a little off track to some people in this thread… But it actually isn’t as odd as it sounds.

Over the years, I’ve heard so many basic testimonials of one product or another. Somebody identifies a product and then they identify a certain length of time they’ve been using the product with no problem.

Absolutely nothing wrong with that with one caveat.

Let’s say, for example, in this instance… You’ve been using a certain string and you’ve had it in service for eight months. And in those eight months, it’s giving you excellent performance and service life.

OK… No disagreement or argument there. That’s straightforward enough. Minus a couple details that might actually be relevant to your statement for clarity.

When you drive a car, the odometer gives a very clear record of how many miles you’ve driven. Logical and reasonable but also potentially misleading, regardless of how an unintentional.

For example, if you start your car up every morning in your driveway and you leave it in park and you just step on the gas pedal and run it up to around 3500 RPMs and just stand on it for an hour, you put where on the engine, but you put 0 miles additional on the odometer. So the odometer reading does fairly accurately tell you how many miles the car has rolled down the road, but it doesn’t accurately give you how much time has actually been put on the engine?

So when you say you’ve used a string for eight months… How often do you throw that yo-yo per day per week per month? And how long is each throwing session with that particular string on a yo-yo?

For example, I can say I’ve had a no jive with the original string on it from 20 years ago and it’s still good as new. But I may fail to mention that I only throw the yo-yo one minute a day each December for the last two decades.

So… Ben, let me ask you something. How many hours of play have you actually logged in with that string over an eight month period?

I would not even have thought to consider this little questionnaire if you would’ve said something like… I’ve had this string on this yo-yo this yo-yo every day for four hours. Four hours a day, seven days a week, for eight months. Now that’s a durable string, lol.

I’m in no way saying or suggesting that you deliberately misled anybody by saying what you said. I believe you’ve had that string in service for eight months. And I have no problem believing since you’ve been around for a while that you probably throw a little bit each day.

But your statement says very little about how many actual hours of play that string has seen in an eight month period

Photography is difficult. If you calibrate your camera with the wrong white balance, then every colour can be distorted towards/away from blue/red. And then, the photo is probably in some unfamiliar colourspace that you’ll need to convert into sRGB before uploading to the internet. This conversion necessarily changes some colours a bit, but if your software doesn’t convert the colourspace then it can produce weird results. If you do this work on a monitor with poor colour accuracy, or without checking the results, or with a night colour filter on, then you might end up with inaccurate colours. For example, in your photo I’m not confident enough about its colour accuracy to conclude whether whether the string is green or yellow because I can tell that everything is a bit too orange. It looks to be green though, which would be good. It could be that Jeremy is just colour blind, since the most common form of colour blindness makes it difficult to distinguish between certain shades of green and yellow.

The color is accurate

It’s closest to yellow imo but one might consider it a shade of green since it’s not pure French’s mustard yellow but then someone else might call French’s mustard orange

Whatever you call it, it’s the color in the picture 🙂

Probably seen 50 hours of play, no joke. Granted, maybe not strenuous play that wears strings harder than normal due to interaction with pads, but still

I hate to say it but the highlighter is not the same colour as the string. :’) I don’t know if you own the string IRL? Side-by-side comparison, anyone?

Talking about colours is fun because they’re somewhat subjective but clearly not everyone has a strong distinction between green & yellow at the point where the red value overtakes the green value (in RGB colour).

For 50 hours I’m impressed the string is frayed so little. A good testament to its durability. I noticed the first fraying on my fluff string after using it for about an hour of looping-style tricks.

For anyone wondering I have some Zipline strings on their way to me right now but none of them had colours other than white haha.

While it isn’t a dead match colorwise (you are technically correct ig in color theory that it would be ever-so-slightly more green than an _actual_ highlighter) i think calling it any color aside from that would be arguing semantics.

I also have a bad camera lol. It is definitely reaching the end of its long life and I will be sad when it goes. It is starting to fray and looks like normal bulk string in terms of fray-amount. That being said it still has monumental lifetime. Most strings have like 2 hours lifetime max for me.
