Just received a TMBR Baldwin today from YYE. It is my favorite TMBR to date. Lately I have been working on shoot-the-moon, and it’s great for that. Some of the other models might be better for complex string tricks, but the Baldwin is great for the old style tricks. It’s kind of like a wider flying camel, with a nicer catch zone. ---

For a rough axle, you can smooth them out by wrapping a bit of string around the axle 3-4 times with both loose ends about 8-10 in. long. Grab both loose strings and pull the string back and forth a number of times. This was always recommended for wood axles in the past. Any string will do, doesn’t have to be yoyo string. I use the really thick stuff used for package wrapping. ---

12 days in… she’s already showing her age. She hasn’t left my side yet. I walk around and gravity pull and sleep her wherever I go. I’m seriously trying to see what it takes to burn thru one of these axles. And yes… when someone ask me to walk the dog… im gonna friggin walk the dog on my next throw! It just never happens to be over grass or carpet. These dings are because of failed snaps starts and tension management. If that string doesn’t wrap tight it hits the pavement. Yep, that was a great video. Thanks Ed. Your tip on keeping the string in line with the gap helped me a ton when trying fixed axle suicides. I’m finally starting to land them on my eh, after trying without success for a while. Before I saw that video, I had even dared to try them on my responsive Flying V. However, I gave that up really quickly when it started flying back into my knuckles at high speed. ---
