Flocking is the application of fine fibers to adhesive coated surfaces, the result is a velvety felt-like surface. It gives the yo-yo a really unique look and feel. ---

I really want to get one of these! I bought an original aloha and love it. This flocking I saw on the poker face but couldn’t quite afford. This looks much more affordable. ^ ^ ---

I defaintly have my eye on one of these. Can someone who buys one please review it? My main concern is I feel like it would get dirty and stained? ---

Were these flocked with electrostatic charge? That’s the only way they could ever hope to hold up to frequent play, even then, I can’t picture it being very durable. ---

The surface will definitely not last forever if you use it as a player. You can imagine that the natural oil from your hands and dirt will make it look dingy over time. I think cleaning it will put even more wear and tear on it. As a collector, I’d put this fuzzy beauty on display for the most part, and play a regular Aloha. If you play it, that’s fine too, because you get to see what it looks like as it wears. At the end of the day, it is still a functional yo-yo that plays no matter what happens to the surface. You’d have to decide whether to play it or keep it looking bright and fuzzy on display. TA, so do you think the normal wearing on the flocked coating will alter the actual play of the yoyo? would it cause it to vibe or be unbalanced due to uneven wear? ---

I never really thought of that. :-\ I guess I’d have to consider the weight of the flocked vs. unflocked. I’ll weigh them later to see what’s the difference. If there isn’t much difference at all, I’d doubt it. I’ll chime in later to let you know.
