# Which is better? Flowable silicone or RTV red silicone?

I’ve never had much luck storing rtv after opening it.Tried putting the cap back on, taping the end, inserting a nail etc. Always ends up curing in the tube.

From my experience RTV always played better to my taste but was so much more of a mess and harder to apply and wore out a lot faster.

The difference in play didn’t make up for how much easier the flowable was to use for me.

Now I just use pads since they are by far the least amount of work.

I agree with others rtv plays better and lasts long than flowable but it is a pain to use, and it doesn’t keep as well. I really like monkey snot also, its thinner than flowable or rtv and is very easy to work with. It keeps well in the fridge and holds up really well. I like how snot plays also.

I’ve yet to find a pad I like as much as silicone. But I’ve never wanted to put in the time to silicone everything.
