It’s not like this is some big prestigious award or anything (people aren’t even voting either) people are just saying what their favourite yo-yo releases this year was. It’s a pretty harmless exercise.
Also, literally no one will have played every yo-yo released this year.

Sure, asking people what they liked from what they’ve got is fair but the title of the topic and its inherent question is something completely different:

It’s a pretty good one for sure. It draws inspiration from both CLYW and Atmos pretty well. Kind of feels like if the Otter and Polaris were fused together. Has the comfort, feel, and similar look, but with some Polaris like features and aspects. If you took the Otter, made it a bit larger, and tweaked it slightly into the performance side, that’s kind of what it plays like in my opinion. Very fun!

My point is that this is all just nitpicking/being pedantic. Whether the topic is called “best” or “best in your opinion” or “favourite” is rather immaterial. Same applies to the poll. It’s all just people having fun talking about stuff they enjoyed.

“Best” is completely subjective. Especially when it comes to yoyos.
Best, to me, is going to be very round and horrible for competition. I imagine a lot of peoples “best” do not align with my “best”. I’m cool with it. It’s still fun to hear what other people think.

My vote is another one for the Orange! It really is a fun yo-yo which is sort of the point. But mainly because it’s the only bandwagon I jumped onto this year.
But if I was guessing from all the posts I’ve read this year I would have to say the Bathysphere and Butterball probably had the most hype.

Although I haven’t tried many new releases this year, I am pretty confident that the One Drop Perspective is a solid 10/10.
It’s unique, plays really nice and is worth every penny.
Highly underrated imo.
I reckon everyone should own or at least try one. What other yoyos can you think of that are not symmetrical?

I’m surprised the Bathysphere hasn’t gotten a lot of hits here. I actually caved and bought a B grade clear (no idea why it’s a B, but I appreciate the discount), and it’s been my go to since I got it. Really good!
I actually feel bad because I got 3 Dressel Designs this year—Oasis, Assassin, and Connection—and haven’t picked them up much since the Bathy and a clear Top Deck. They are fantastic, though, and also get votes from me. They went on the road with me, too.

i only got to try one new release as i got rolling this year, but i can say that the g2 loadout is an absolute beast of a mono. can’t compare it to others and obv my experience in general is very limited, but i genuinely think that after the first throw it doesn’t take a pro to recognize it’s something special
