# What did you get in the mail for 2020/2021?

So I struck up a conversation with @ryanmcg last fall…and he’s been awesome ever since. We chat almost daily through pm’s and he’s been a GREAT source of encouragement, support and inspiration.
He’s become a close friend to me.
We were talking about bearings not too long ago. He’s got some [DS Bearings](https://shop.yoyoexpert.com/products/yoyorecreation-ds-yoyo-bearing?variant=18873671684) and I was asking him about his opinions on the Golds (he’s got both golds and plats).
Well, a few days later he tells me in a pm that he’s got something he thinks I’ll like. A couple days later he gives me a tracking number without any other clues.
I figured maybe he was going to send me a bearing. I’d of been thrilled.
It still doesn’t make sense to me.
This just arrived today. It came from Ryan.
I’m not left speechless often…but holy hell! I’m completely dazed over this! Totally blindsided!
I was shaking and almost in tears when I opened up the box to this thing. My arms and hands were shaking.
It’s been a few hours now and I’m still shaking my head in disbelief!

Yeaaaaaaaahhhhh buddyyyy!!! So lit. I wish it had thicker pads, but I just put a ton of thick lube on the bearing and am hoping for the best. I think half specs would work too but I haven’t tried yet.

I had the chance to throw it around for a while, well yeah it`s defenitly one of my top performers aswell, love it! Reminds me of my Edolass, both play (very) light yet stable and spin forever. I like the purple/gold combo aswell, no credits to me though, it was the last colour avaliable :wink:

Great post @twitch77. It shows how awesome this community is. Because of my other hobbies I`m involved in some different communities aswell (wristwatches and fitness) where I see a lot of drama, hate, snobbery, backstabbing etc. Since I got back into throwing I hesitated about joining this forum because of my experience in the other communities. Well I was pleasantly surprised when I joined, most of what I see is positive, encouraging and people willing to help/advise. Massive shout out to @ryanmcg!
