Really cool to see Mr. Yodel’s still around!
I use to have a couple of his painted yos way back in the early 2000’s. I think I had a proyo that he painted to look like a ladybug haha…I also had an all black cold fusion gt that he painted with a bunch of multicolored paint splatters lol.

Flat caps are my favorite for the Küntosh, but spikes and energy domes also look fantastic, and ultralites in the right color. It’s a shame it’s so hard to get different colored SEs. I’d love some purple flats for my Küntosh 5kQV.

I’d love black flats to pop on my 2 Fat Tires once in awhile. Or even other colors. When I put the energy effects on my Fat Tire today it was sorta like “I got a new yoyo, teehee!”

I love side effects! They add so much to a yo as far as the way they look!
I’ve been gifted 2 sets of side effects from 2 very cool people on these forums. A pair of red and orange flats.
I think my favorites (as far as looks go) are energy domes…though flats are hard to beat too imho.
I have black energy domes in my Legendary Terrarian, black spikes in my 5000QV, red flats in my green/orange Deep State and black and green flats in my green/black Deep State (on opposite halves for a cool contrast).
I also had a super cool looking black/orange Deep state with black and orange flats on opposite halves that I helped gift to someone a couple of months back.

Energy Domes are my least favorite. They are big and heavy and they remind me of those stupid Devo hats.
I know that ultra-lites don’t look like much, but they have the benefit of not adding so much weight to the center, which is _the_ most important thing to me. Except when it comes to small yoyos like the Parlay, where the extra weight of a spike side effect is kinda welcome and they give the Parlay a sweet retro look.
The biggest problem with ultra-lites, in my view, is the limited colors they come in. I really would love to have them in orange and teal, but I don’t think I’ll ever see that happen (I know orange happened once in the past, but nobody seems to actually own any.)
