That’s a brownish red, yes. We labelled it Autumn Red back in the day.

The hex nut on the outside of the body looks a bit makeshift to me. The whole design looks like it is meant to be an unresponsive and not at all a fixed axle yoyo.
Probably just a fun project they decided to do for kicks.

Hex nut embedded. That is much more practical (and even kinda classy in my opinion).

If a guy who is not a manufacturer makes a yoyo in his shed which has an unusual shape and a hex nut on the outside to secure the axle… That, however, is really cool. I love that kinda stuff!
I sometimes spend time watching videos of grand dads making yoyos. They have some interesting designs and methods, I love it!

Wasn’t just a fun project. Should ask Kyle about it, he was one of their main guys with it. They were getting ready to do a full production run, and it was a highly anticipated yoyo at the time.

Correct these were prototypes, I had heard from the guys back then that it was going to have a different setup, similar to a No Jive nut.
