I’m sure you’re probably going to get a refund but if not:
Get some pva glue, put it along the spine and put it back together, wrap some strong rubber bands around it to keep it closed, and wedge it against a hard surface really tightly with the spine down.
Leave it like that for a full day and it should be good.

Thanks for this! They are sending another, but I’ve since found that a lot of these have bad bindings. If the next is just as bad I may give this a try.

Followup on the Harbinger:
The edges either softened a teensy bit by themselves (maple’s pretty soft and I guess I bang it into stuff in my bag) or my hands hardened or it just doesn’t bother me any more. Maybe all three.
It plays fantastically and I’ve been doing all sorts of stalls/etc that are honestly kinda hard on my Alleycat. The Sugar maple makes it a light one and the response is really, well, responsive.

Yeah I just started doing this last week.
It felt like a good way to have some fun with all the strings I’m shredding through, instead of just chucking them in the bin.

While maple has a soft feel, it actually a pretty hard wood, particularly in proportion to its weight. It’s hardness in on par with white oak. It only appears to be soft because it tends to show up damage more readily because it has a fine texture.

Is this what modern metals are like?
I have no comparison other than yoyo’s prior to 2007 and my Dove (Delrin yoyo).
So I am not sure if this is just unique to Ti-Vayder, or titanium yoyos or this is just the level to expect for modern metals or what.
But this thing blew my mind.
Sure it looks nice, and I bought it because of the story, wanting to be part of the history, and to try a titanium yoyo for cheap.
But this thing (no hyperbole) feels like it has instantly made me a better thrower.
A beginner yoyoer still, yes, but a better beginner!
I said I want a few days with it before forming any judgement, and take this with a pinch of salt, honeymoon phase, no experience with metal yoyos made since 12 years ago etc.
But this is as if it was made by midichlorians them selves out of vibranium forged in the hearth of Moria using dragon fire and polished by the children of the forest, and designed by Hattori Hanzo.
Logging off now to go and just throw for a while.
TLDR: might need to get more

Yeah unfortunately that was quite high.
I paid £118.58 for the Ti-Vayder plus shipping.
And customs came to £31.91.
So total in the end was £150.49
Or in dollar terms $193
But no regrets.

I don’t think I have the heart to do this unless I had more than 1 of the Vayders.
Although if @smileypants707 sparked his, I might be tempted to change my mind. 🤣
