It’s a very unconventional loop. The Corsair XD7 (pump/reservoir on the right side) is made to be put on the front of a case. I have mounted it “backwards” to place it where it is. I’ve never seen anyone do this before.. I might be the only/first to do it, lol. Modifications have been done to that specific part and the case itself to make the loop this clean.

Well I probably paid too much for them, but they did not disappoint. The adult me is just as happy as the teenage me would have been back in 2008. 😁
If one comes up, just grab it. Worst case scenario is that you resell it to someone else who would also be happy to play with a small piece of yoyo history. They aren’t going to lose a ton of value anytime soon!

Ah makes sense, 888.11 was made in USA. Does this make it a 2010 or did they still make the 888x in 2011 also?
Also… the splash 888 was sold to me as an 2008. But now that I am doing my research, it is 100% a 2009. Clearly can see there were a few splash designs in 09 that are identical. 888x was made for a long while after 2010, yours looks like a 2013 production date.
And you’re right, 08 logo was this one (07 is low wall 6061, 08 is low wall 7075, 09 is highwall 6061):
