The note said that he left the axle unglued to that I could mess around with the gap as well as the way the halves are oriented. If someone could give me some advice on this that’d be great. I have yet to measure it so IDK how it is compared to “normal” wood fixies ---

Thicknesses do vary, so it’s best to find a paper or plastic card that is ~1/8th the correct gap width for a fixed axle yo-yo. ---

I think it is a good place to start, given the available references. FWIW, I have set the gap on home-made wooden fixed axles by using the number of generic index cards that fit in the gap of a Butterfly. Playing cards are more standard than unknown card stock, but not exact. ---
