Welcome back, ya olā€™ fart! Iā€™m relatively in the same boat as you, but I was on and off before, during, and after age 11. Iā€™ve just recently come back and am progressing further now than I ever have before, COMBINED. Ugh, the picture books with yoyos, what weird way we had to learn to throw. Kids these days with their youtubes and their instatwitter and whatnots I, too, am impressed with the advancement in throwing tech, but I see you started off strong with the Bathysphere! Impressed that you scored both the exotic colorways. ---

Picture books is all there was for me as a kid. Itā€™s why I never learned much. Iā€™ve learned so much in the last year. Also, thanks to this forum and the awesome people here. ---

Same. No disrespect to the picture book, but I have with no ability to quantify this claim despite the evidence, learned significantly more in the past 2-3 weeks than I have for my 20+ years previously combined. Also with you on thanking this forum. ---

I know a lot of people learned from those books but my mind couldnā€™t make the transition. Video and people willing to take the time to break down and explain has made learning accessible, not easy, just accessible. Iā€™m always appreciative of those who put their own time into making tutorials for the rest of us and then there is free access to all of this information. Manā€¦ you had to search, and dig, and work to get information when I was a kid. I sound old to myself right now but thatā€™s the truth right there. ---

Same here to be honest, I used to struggle with those picture books. I remember giving up even on Splitting the Atom entirely and on my return to the hobby a video got me going in like 10 minutes, if that long, haha. ---

Got these super fast along with my free ā€œyo-yoā€ hat šŸ˜…. The papercut is really good, like the easiest to control yoyo I ever played. I was going back and forth on if I should get one, Iā€™m glad I did. Iā€™ve only played it for about an hour and a half but Iā€™m pretty sure itā€™s going to be my best playing yoyo. Iā€™m surprised I havenā€™t heard much about it yet from when it was released in mystery boxes. I wasnā€™t hyped on any colors of the papercut but the teal is much darker than some of the photos I seen and I like it a lot. I was hoping it would be that way. I also got a speedaholic cause I played Teslas the whole time at Steel City Throwers and really liked it. I like both a lot. I now understand why the bimetal shape of the Klondike/w1ld/kagerou etc. are so popular. The papercut is definitely the best performing yoyo I have. Its a really solid feeling yoyo compared to how some bimetals feel kind of hollow. Its similar in weight to my Peregrine but definitely plays a little more heavy on the string, which I like. If I had to describe it in one sentence Iā€™d say that itā€™s a really easy to control yoyo. The Speedaholic is a great plastic yoyo. Almost plays as good as a metal id say, maybe even better than some metals. I been enjoying playing plastic yoyos alot lately, they just feel more.fun. ---
