I am really dumb when it comes to tops. If you spin it on a surface, like a wooden table, does it spin very long, compared to using the glass thingamajig you have there?

I am also rather dumb, but this ‘spin station’ greatly increases the spin time. The glass has a lot less friction and it’s slightly concave so it eventually stays in the middle. I don’t have a perfectly smooth table so it tends to ride the ridges off the edge and I can’t accurately time it, but I would guesstimate spin times are 3x longer or more on the spin station.
You can also use any concave piece of glass like a cheap makeup mirror, so it’s pretty easy to get one.

I opened the box, laced the included string, and started throwing fixed. At first I didn’t get it. It was not doing what I wanted. But as any spirit guide, it is not what you WANT that they lead you to. It’s what you NEED. I stuck with it for about ten minutes solid and hit the break-in curve for the string. This thing is S U P E R B. You have to play by its rules (stronger throws than one is used to with a fixie are required to get the momentum to stall efficiently), but it rewards you with perks (seemingly much easier to control on varials and dead play). I think this is due to the center weight? I ain’t no scientist. But I know what I like. And I like throwing this thing hard. I doubt I’ll ever take the rest of the parts out of their baggies.

Wife got me a throw with my school on it. Turns out it is an XT with some strange plastic bearing blank. Threw a greased C in it and it’s awesome. Also got a Wave from the BST and some Mazal string.
