As some of you may know, a month or two ago Aaron from Static sent me a box with about $800 worth of yos that was lost/stolen in transit. Even though he wasn’t at fault, he still sent me a surprise consolation box to make up for it.
Nickel plated Parlay and an Escolar FH1 😭
So excited to add these to the rotation. There’s also a new Static proto (not pictured for obvious reasons) but first impressions are great.

No I kinda put the rat-rod wave on the back burner for a minute since we have two new Static models in the works. That one will be a pretty quick turnaround once I pull the trigger though, just need the time to do all the handwork/assembly/packaging etc.

So sorry about the lost package! I’m curious how you would compare the nickel-plated Parlay to a regular Parlay or a Sudo. I’m assuming that the nickel adds weight and so it might feel/play like something in between both? Maybe I’m totally off…

You’re not off at all! The nickel plating does add a small amount of weight, about a gram overall. I wouldn’t say it feels quite like a sudo, as you don’t get that denser feeling of the 7075. It still has that high-pitch ring and zip the 6061 has on the regular Parlay. The copper and nickel-plated Parlays are actually Aaron’s favorite iterations, as the extra weight definitely changes the feel and adds a bit of stability/spin time.
We’ve been talking about doing a batch of cerakote Parlays since we think the effect will be pretty similar. It’s on the list haha.

Came home to an awesome delivery from my friend @TommyBwell, a mint condition Dressel Designs 5050 Blurple. The colors really pop in person.
