I’ve been looking forward to the [Monarch’s](https://shop.yoyoexpert.com/collections/new-releases/products/monarch-yoyo-by-dressel-designs?variant=42250511712446) release ever since @hobbygod started teasing us with photos a couple of months ago. That seems like ages ago, but the wait was worth it and is finally over! Today was my first day with the clear/purple colorway, and boy oh boy is it a looker!
I’ve been enjoying throwing it too, obviously, but I’m trying to remain calm to avoid gushing about it too much during the honeymoon period. Interestingly, when I first threw the yoyo it kind of felt like picking up an old friend in a way. Maybe it’s reminiscent of other yoyos somehow, but it’s certainly a well-behaved modern unresponsive. It’s also quite different from some of my other hybrids, as the rims are **much** beefier and it’s not nearly as noisy as some of my PC/Al hybrids are. As luck would have it, I’ve got the next couple of days off from work so I’m looking forward to spending more time with it!

It’s one of the handful of yo-yos I have that does not feel like it’s spinning. By and large don’t get G2 stuff because they have felt very generic as of late but their Ti is always a home run.

First release from Prohibition Yoyo, the Speakeasy!
#yoyorenaissance2022 still in full swing 🕶
Stability, speed, power, and a beautiful blast for grinds! First impressions are generally biased anyway, but this yoyo isn’t my normal thing and it’s doing it for me.
Super fun to catch with the rims fitting comfortably between fingers and seriously, grinds are a blast (haha, see what I did there?) with this U shaped profile.
Dead smooth, snappy response (new FPM pads!), and there’s a Zipline string in the box! Also includes a sticker and cocktail recipe for the certificate of authenticity 🍸
