Three body problem broke my mind lol. It gave me a little existential dread I had to come down from over time. It’s still something I could think about, and talk about for hours

Currently reading through the Necroscope series by Brian Lumley I’m on book 5 at the moment.

[Best Served Cold](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2315892.Best_Served_Cold?from_search=true&from_srp=true&qid=hu5EDcQTXe&rank=1) - By - Joe Abercrombie - It’s a loose continuation of the [first law series](https://www.goodreads.com/series/150214-first-law-world) (highly recommend especially the first 3 books) by Joe Abercrombie. This is more of a side story with some of the characters that were in a part of the first law books.

(the game) and Stalker (the movie) - this is the book that kind of started it all. I’ve read parts of it years ago and never finished it so I decided to finally finish it for good this time haha!

I’ve went through a sea change the last three years of my life so I’ve just been focused on one book regarding my faith, finally gave it a full read through this year. I’d love to go deeper but definitely want to respect forum guidelines (but PM me if that’s your thing too.)
My wife, the beautiful heathen that she is, has been reading these faerie smut books like crazy, and so in an effort to be able to relate, I read the first three books of the ACOTAR series. “A Court of Thorns and Roses”
Not gonna lie, I really enjoyed them. It wasn’t smut (for the most part) like how it had been characterized to me and instead a really beautiful love story. And even moreso, I enjoyed the long conversations with my partner about something that has been bringing her lots of joy.

I read used books. Reichs is a forensics anthropologist so the main character is a forensics anthropologist. The books have self-contained stories but there are story lines that run through / continue in the books. I’ve read about 15 books in what I call a series. Very engaging and page-turning.

It’s christian mysticism teachings from around the 14th century during the western schism. It’s a contemplative teaching that removes one’s need to practice/pray in an organized sense. Teaching that, since our creator is the creator of everything we could never possibly comprehend what the creator is and that trying to do so is more damaging to our spiritually than it would be to ignore the creator all together.
In a very basic sense it’s like if Christians went more Buddhist/zen then the direction we see them in today. It’s a great read if you consider yourself spiritual but aren’t religious.

+1 for thriftbooks. Tried Abebooks but
1. it wouldn’t let me send payment (do you not like money)
2. Were at some point acquired by the rain forest shipping company
This thread actually re-invigorated me back into reading.
Restarted my reading career with the
1. Finished 2 of 3 of the Solar Warden (trilogy/series? 🤞 for more) by Ian Douglas
2. currently reading Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy

Currently working my way through the sequel to the “Three Body Problem” called “The Dark Forest”. It’s very good. I’m about 3/4 through it and have the final installment lined up ready to go.
