The difference in the two finishes is a factor for me. Though I love the appearance of the polished clear coat, itā€™s texture feels almost alien to me rather than the ā€œsatinā€ finish on the Haymaker. Granted, itā€™s the first yoyo Iā€™ve owned thatā€™s like that all over- so thereā€™s that. :thinking: Satin finish is so smooth though. _disclaimer: Iā€™m sure Iā€™m not using the right term for its finish_ ---

Sure is. Iā€™ll get over it, but this is like the 4th time Iā€™ve had this happen.most of the time just after I change the string for the first time. Is it just luck or what gives? I have other bearings just in case. But still? ---

I like my bearings to be whisper quiet and spin for days. So, first thing i do whenever I get a yoyo ā€“ new or used ā€“ is my _patented_ bearing cleaning ritual to ward off dirt, debris, and especially evil spirits. Start with the bearing, shields off, and scrub with diluted Dawn dish soap, lukewarm water, and a toothbrush. Continue scrubbing and rinse thoroughly. Dunk in 90% isopropyl alcohol for bit. Can of compressed air to dry. Finally apply YYF thin lube with a sewing needle (if the drop cannot stay on the needle itā€™s too much). Put shields back on. Throw some tricks/sleepers to spread the thin lube until the bearing is essentially silent. **Excessive? You bet!** But I swear by it. ---

I donā€™t know if I run them dry. I just leave everything stock if I can and try to resist taking it apart as long as possible. Is it ok to use a hair dryer if no compressed air is available? I feel like I read that somewhere. ---

All the yoyo bearings Iā€™ve received so far have shipped dry. You can tell because they are crazy loud compared to a lubed one. Iā€™d like to hear other peopleā€™s experiences though. A hairdryer to get the moisture off, sureā€¦ I would stick to the cool setting because heated metal expands and you risk warping the bearing cage depending on how the bearing is constructed. Also, the good thing about compressed air is that it spins the bearing crazy fast. This Centrifugal force will also dislodge any debris that could still be remaining ā€“ and it sounds cool! Also, there should be zero risk in unscrewing a yoyo. No one is using scientific equipment to screw it together at the factory. ---
