Iā€™m not really experienced with fixie play, so my opinion must be taken with a huge grain of salt. My overall impression of the Sherpa with the bearing blank can be summed up in one word: _meh_. I mean, it ā€œworksā€ perfectly fine. You get low spin times and reasonable but not exceptional smoothness. Pretty much like youā€™d expect from a wood fixie. But wood fixies are much lighter and snappier in their response (usually) than the Sherpa, and so the play feels pretty sluggish by comparison. ---

The Sherpa is fun responsive as it has Pull Start Dimples similar to the Knack. Itā€™s also the same diameter as the TMBR Sullivan another favorite wood of mine. With a lubed 1/2 Spec C it can do some 1A and some OA, but its not as responsive as lighter throws so I get that it can feel sluggish as a responsive set up. I really need to try and get a Sherpa. Iā€™ve always liked the look of the white ones but I bet theyā€™re hard to come by. I really like my Sullivan too, good weight to it and the size is appropriate. ---
