Unforgivingly lovely feeling organic. Itâs great for real casual play, and a narrow gap makes for tight binds. Itâs one of my favorites as far as feel goes, but itâs not exactly a performer. The way I see it, itâs among the pinnacle of organic throwbacks.

Itâs gonna be a few days still till I can really yo-yo again(I have gout⊠Donât ever get gout), but I did spend a few minutes with the Death Adder last night.
So, while not very complete, my initial impressions are very positive. A few things of note (to me anyway, maybe itâll be useful to someone else)
- The finish is great. It grinds similarly well to YYFâs new ano, and it looks very nice tooâonly black yo-yo I have that I can see the contours of in my living room lighting. Really want to see more colorsâI might have to buy a second đ€«
- The finger spin cup is awesome. Itâs like the best of a flat cup so you donât have to settle it down and the longer spin of a dimple. Not everyone cares about finger spins but itâs really impressive to non-throwers to see a finger spin followed by a long vortex bind. For me personally, grinds and spins are my meditationâseriously, it relaxes me like few things can, and a lot of my recent throws donât grind or finger spin well at all, so this is kinda great for me.
- I typically like wider yo-yos, but the huge catch zone makes it feel a bit wider than it actually is. I expected to have to get used to it a bit, but not at all. Feels like Iâm playing with a 45mm throw.
- Itâs got great power and stability without feeling heavy or slow. It makes my other bi-metals feel like boulders. I can play it faster with more precision than the majority of my yo-yos. It does lose stability as spin dies a bit faster than my âbouldersâ, but it actually stays stable longer than I expected.
- Itâs way more comfortable to catch and throw than I would have guessed.
The Death Adder seems to me technically excellent without neglecting the fun. I am dying to play with it more. And itâs beautiful to look at, which Iâve noticed is important to a lot of people.

For sure man. I donât have anything even comparable, really. More stable and itâs a rock, lighter feeling and itâs sorta unstable. Itâs like the bi-metal golden ratio.

I agree. The stainless steel is a tad less powerful but has more of that float/light feeling (.3 grams so not the biggest weight diff) but I can tell a slight difference between the two. Both really great yos
