5a is a weird area for yo-yo preference compared to other divisions. 3a you know you’re generally looking at something a bit narrower within a certain range of shapes. 4a it’s almost entirely different from a 1a yo-yo. But 5a on the surface seems like you could just use any yoyo built for 1a, and while it’s technically true certain design elements really lend themselves more to the style that aren’t nearly as prominent in some of the ultra refined 1a competition throws. ---
