It’s a Duncan Mosquito I found at an antique store! Not a bad throw at all.
Now I don’t own a RBC (tho I reeeeally want one), but I don’t think I could compare the two at all from all the praise I’ve seen the RBC get.

Nice find !!! Any vintage Duncan throw is pretty sweet 😁 I guess I have to look at some antique stores then :wink: but for 5 dollars that’s an absolute steal !!!

I tend to have very small luck with antique stores, though every once in awhile something pops up.
For instance, this Duncan Wheels fixie I got at another antique store also for $5!

Throwing on stock MYY strings from this bag which I’ve been adding to since 2018. There’s over 100 strings inside. Tonight I had to chuck the string on my Silenus because it just outlived that certain feeling. I didn’t want to use a string that costs $1.00 so I pulled out this bag and decided to give one a try. I was super pleased with the length so no cutting and tieing and the string feels awesome. I don’t care if it doesn’t last a month. I’ve got tons more.

BiND. It’s so good and wide for competition. I actually used it for scales v6 and I felt pretty good with it. It’s a really quick and stable throw for all styles of play!

I wouldn’t sell any of them, they all look so good. Obviously, I don’t know what kind of situation you are in, but I have sold throws that I thought were pretty nice and ended up regretting getting rid of them. I dunno, but if you really like them, you may want to hold on to them.

Buying another yoyo from someone they had a good deal on a shutter. I always get the feeling that people think there’s nothing really special about them.
Well i don’t know about special but it’s REALLY good. I really love it and am almost annoyed that I bought a bunch of cheaper throws earlier instead of one of these.
But then i probably wouldn’t be able to appreciate it for what it is now. So mea culpa I guess.

I didn’t like mine at first and was disappointed because I had such high hopes for it. It just seems to check all the boxes. My bearing was oddly quiet and seemed to slow it down considerably, so I swapped it with my Iceberg and got a spinny Shutter and quieter Iceberg—win-win. The Shutter really gained a lot from that bearing, and now I’m using it daily. I liked it enough that I should have a Wide Angle in my mailbox tomorrow 😁.

L TO R: 5A Shutter, JDS Shutter, Wide Angle and Bi-Metal Shutter.
The Shutter line is really good. I think the lack of excitement is due more to the snobbish attitude many have about mass produced throws from a company like YYF. Many kind of turn their noses up at these throws which, in my humble opinion, is a huge loss for them. They are all incredible. Smooth, quiet, powerful and typically cost less for similar performance of a higher end or boutique throw.
Gentry is on to something with these.
