# What are the difference between the different bearing shapes?

Just been throwing for over a year now and I am still confused on why there are so many different bearings. The most common one that comes with the yoyo is the Koncave one. but why would people want to use the other shapes? what are the advantages and disadvantages? There are also ceramic, hybrids, and gold plated etc. Anyone care to explain?
