Glad I have a supply of their pads. My Top Deck is my most daily throw. I got it in 2019 and the pads are still perfect! I will probably never have to use my One Drop back-up pads for my other One Drop yoyos.

I’ve recently been enjoying the @Modern_yoyos mouse pads. They’re absolutely perfect right from the start and offer grippy/snappy binds on every throw. They suit a wide variety of different yo-yos and I’ve never had an issue with snagging !!! Plus there very affordable as well !!! I don’t see myself buying different pads other than these for a while, I highly recommend them 😁

The thing about response pads is, the vast majority of them are serviceable. They’re silicone and just work. But there are a select few that are exceptional. The OG One Drop pads fall in that category I think. YYR grip N pads also do. These two are the closest thing to flowable silicon I’ve played with. @Xanadu went to the effort of slicing the OG pads in two so they’d fit standard grooves. No conversation on best response pads is complete without mentioning or comparing to one of those two IMO.

I’ve never played anything with flow groove pads, but RSO saturn pads are my favorite 19mm pads. Extremely high grip, makes every bind feel stupid tight and every throw feel a bit more powerful. They’re not for every yoyo though. If it’s a narrow-ish gap and you already have snagging issues, the problem is going to be heavily exacerbated with saturn pads thrown in.
I really like snow tires and saturn pads are the closest I’ve gotten to a similar feeling from a 19mm pad. In the same way old YYF white pads were stupidly hard, saturn pads are stupidly soft. They’re on an extreme end of the spectrum.

The only One Drops I’ve tried were all siliconed after the fact, so I’ve never gotten to try their stock pads unfortunately.

Just wanted to throw our hat into the ring 🙂
They’re our new Stratos Pads, withj 30 Shore (black) and 40 Shore (white) variants. The black Stratos Pads play like the Saturns we made with RSO – snappy binds for days without any break in time. White ones are a bit less reactive and more forgiving to multiple string wraps.

Thanks for sharing! Agreed you have to know what you’re doing when going to extreme ends of the spectrum. I’m definitely going to give the RSO and Atmos ones a try judging from your experience.
For what it’s worth, I play with a kitty fat thickness string and find the One Drop flow groove and YYR grip N pads to give the most reliable and predictable binds. Most of my yoyos have konkave or DS bearings and a gap width around 4.5mm.

Pads don’t exist in a void. The relationship between string choice, even material and finish of the material of the yoyo all play a big part in the relationship.
It’s hard to try everything so feedback from others is important but that context kinda needs to exist to make the info more valuable.
