Kirby superstar on the SNES had a yoyo power. Technically I think the Kirby game yoyo power was a reference to earthbound but still. ---

Watch Dogs 2, believe it or not. River City Girls has yo-yos you can pick up as weapons. Earthbound, of course, but also Mother 1 and 3 (Earthbound is known as Mother 2 in Japan). I feel like I came across one in a game I played recently that was a surprise, but I can’t remember it; I thought it was Eastward but that doesn’t check out after googling it. So it’s possible it was in a TV show or movie I watched and I’m misremembering. ---
