# Unknown string puzzle

I’ve had this string for a long time but I can’t remember what it is. I’d have gotten it sometime around 95ish before I took a hiatus from the hobby. I’m pretty sure it’s a nylon blend since it has a softer feel than my full poly strings. It melts when I flame it so it’s not a cotton blend which chars and burns instead of melts.

So far it’s my top string as it whips well , keeps good tension and lasts a long time. I’m hoping someone can help figure out what it is since I’m running low and want to try and find more. Possible brands are Yoyo factory, Yomega and a small chance it was Duncan but could have come to the store I got it from back then through General Yo and even Tom Kuhn.

It looks like the old yoyojam tri color string  
(Although that could be the lighting) I do know yyf releases a 2 tone color pattern as well

I don’t recall many poly or nylon blends in 95. Multi-colors were usually cotton based like the BC strings back then. I would say it’s probably from 2000 or so, that’s just my guess though. I could be misremembering, it was 30 years ago (_now I feel really old_) I definitely remember having some of the same color twist.

As Jayce said it looks similar to the YoYoJam strings. It doesn’t look thin enough to be a blend like slick six or speed string. That’s why I feel it’s a newer than 95.

You could be right about it being closer to 2000. Had a lot going on back then with my job of 10 years being shipped south of the border and other life hills to climb. Shop I got it from is long since gone so just going of of memory as best I can

I’ll be the outlier here…  
Looks like some of the poly string I got from TheYo store (in another time and place, sadly now defunct 🤢).
