Stumbled on [this thread](https://forums.yoyoexpert.com/t/summits-buyers-beware-but-also-rejoice/431668) today and decided to check the 7Summits I have in my collection. Turns out the Aconcagua one I bought last year from another member here is fake. I didn’t even know fakes existed so didn’t think to check thoroughly and examine it when it arrived, but now looking at it, so many red flags and so many things are off. Here are some comparisons. The box is made of a different cardboard and feels thinner. The box itself is also shorter in height. The 7Summits sticker on it is noticeably lower contrast and blurrier. The sticker also has less rounded corners than a real one. The most obvious tell is the finish. Wow that really sucks. Who did you purchase this from? Were they aware that it’s a fake? Assuming they probably weren’t aware but pretty wild to see yo-yos being counterfeited ---

Ouch, I know the feeling on the fake summits, at the first of the year I ended up being fooled and got a fake summit. Since then I got lucky enough to find 2 real ones so I gave the fake to my nephew who is starting out. Thank you for the info on the fake 7summit though, it will help me to avoid the same mistake.
