Alright, week 3 here we go!
I’m going to periodically help @ben_jammin with the TAW this year, and we’ve got some good ones coming down the pipe for you all. Something we’ve discussed is trying to alternate difficulties on the tricks in order to make this as approachable as possible, while still being interesting to more advanced throwers. This one was recommended by Ben, and it involves some chopsticks and slack elements to mix it up this month!

Pretty much. Just whip the string inwards like a 1.5 hook, catch the string on the back of your hand, and pull up with your NTH as the yoyo lands on it

This one is fun- I still have to work on smoothing it out more, but that will hopefully come with time.
edit- my tips for anyone else that may be having trouble learning this:
First is change your strings. Mine was curling up when I tried dropping the loop to put it through and that seems to have helped hold it’s shape better. I think this was also a bit easier with a full string, instead of a shortened one like I had on my yoyo before it.
I was also having trouble with the yoyo tipping towards me when I tried moving my off hand around it. I was accidentally putting too much tension on it and that was causing it to do a “gryoscopic flop”. It wasn’t too hard adjusting for that when I realized what was going on.
Between White Buddha and this I’m being forced to move the string closer to the tip of my fingers, but that’s probably a good thing.

The slack part is tough to get smooth, it still catches on my hand on the way down a ton. Great job!

(Gormleyesque Star Trick)
I got a little obsessed with a “star born out of chaos” version of this trick. Chaos turned out to be key. I wound up forgetting how to do it the right way, so I just kept moving forward with this. Then something happened in the video of every successful attempt. _ **Uncle!** _ This one works.
