So what is it like being on a team? When did you fist get sponsored and why?

Getting sponsored comes from proving you can be a benefit to a company. This comes from getting lots of hits on videos, being a social and beneficial asset to the community, or competing and placing well in contests.

My advice is to not worry about sponsorship. It well come when it is earned; until then, keep practicing.
