# TMBR Counterweight mod

I have a TMBR counterweight that seems to have a defect. There isnt a groove in the center to keep it balanced, so im considering drilling a hole in the side or bottom. Which would be better?

The flat end will be easier to centre with a bit but will also pose more risk of splitting the counterweight as you will be drilling into the end grain.

It seems like filing a pair of opposing string-centering grooves on the outer diameter would be easier, less likely to split the counterweight and take away less weight overall.

There’s a centered groove though, right? I searched for pictures of the Lil’ Barrel and they all look like they have center grooves.

For some reason, your log has four grooves, not three, which would make it off centered

Maybe double loop it with a string in each groove

I’ve never had a log before, but I assumed it was defective. I was super excited to finally use it for Week 4s Celeb trick, then realized it was a Lil’ off.
