# TMBR axle replacements

I need a new axle for my Carlson  
On the site they offer 2 sizes, 416 (smaller) and 516 (larger)  
What size are they referring to? Is that the gap and either will work?

Either will work. 416 are the ones that they come stock with. Its the diameter of the axle not gap. 516 is larger in diameter for different response and play characteristics.

The numbers refer to the axle diameter where the string attaches like Exmime said. 4/16’’ (416) and 5/16’’ (516) I believe.

Correct 416 = 4/16" or 1/4" or .250" and 516 is 5/16" or .313" or in millimetres 6.35mm and 7.95mm. The smaller diameter will accelerate faster and feel snappier. Compared to a C Bearing which is 1/2" or .500" and an A bearing that is 10mm or 0.394" .
