By the time you’ve unscrewed it, positioned the blade and CAREFULLY screwed it back together with only one slip resulting in a sliced fingertip, your buddy has already whipped out his pocket folder, opened the IKEA box, comprehended the instructions, assembled the desk and broken down the box for recycling. So now you have to unscrew the two halves and replace the blade in the center with one finger out of commission. Ivan ---

You all googled “br **e** ad lame” right? It appears the above is a very common design for a bread lame. Your opinions seem to be contradicted by people that actually use these. ---

They are totally useful in bread making and help make lots of interesting designs or for certain types of bread. Took only a few seconds to make my own lame using an unnamed yoyo that I won’t post for fear of a cease desist notice 😃 Bread making meet yoyo. Dual purpose achieved. ---
